Like the previous entry, it builds on the game engine and roster of the latest entry in the series (in this case, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion) and features special tag-team mechanics. The game received an update on March 27, 2012, titled Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited.
